Any foam huh. like maybe polyproplene,polyethelene, polystyrene maybe even styrofoam? Does anyone have a board made with an alternative foam? Could i make a spoon with an old bodyboard or the hardened black styrofoam they use in making modern bumpers in cars?

Yes to all but you need to be able to shape it. Also take into consideration its characteristics of density (floatation), flex, structural stability (how fast it will turn to dust under repeated flexing.
