Carbon fibre/epoxy Greenough edge board and fiberglass/epoxy sister
I thought my edge board was flexy until I touched and flexed this carbon fibre board(Greenough's). Now I realize that mine is relatively STIFF!

the fin on the carbon fibre board is bolted on
and has about 2" fore/aft adjustment. Fin is 9".

the 2 boards are close to identical. The fiberglass/epoxy board may have come from a mold that was destroyed when board was pulled, possibly 1974. The carbon fibre/epoxy board was Greenough's last and came out of the mold in 1990.
Greenough's carbon fibre/epoxy board is SOOOO flexible and delicate that I would be hesitant/afraid to ride it at my current 195 lbs. Thoughts of the board coming apart under me on a wave come to mind. You can run your hand down the center panel and make it ripple. Go to this page Click here and see how much the fiberglass/epoxy board flexes. At 195 I can ride that board with confidence. The carbon fibre/epoxy board is another matter. It is like thick paper.
You can see the runners on the carbon board. Runners were removed for replacement on fiberglass/epoxy board. Another factor to consider - neither board floats on its own. Deck pad is added for flotation.
